The Role
- We are looking for a results-driven Director of Distribution to lead, streamline, and manage our Distribution Centers. In this role, you will champion a "right part, right place, right time" philosophy to ensure our supply chain is optimized, cost-efficient, and customer focused. This pivotal position will drive strategic improvements across our distribution operations, directly enhancing our service delivery of bottle-less water coolers, ice machines, sparkling water dispensers, and coffee brewers
- Leadership & Team Management: Guide, motivate, and develop the distribution team, setting and tracking performance goals
- Strategic Planning: Design and execute distribution strategies aligned with corporate goals, emphasizing efficiency and service excellence
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement initiatives to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and elevate service quality across the network
- Vendor Relations: Manage and strengthen partnerships with third-party logistics providers
- Budget Oversight: Develop, manage, and optimize the distribution budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure adherence to warehousing, transportation, and distribution regulatory standards
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics to track performance metrics, forecast demand, and drive continuous improvement
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align goals and foster a customer-centric approach
- Continuous Improvement: Promote Lean principles such as 5S, Daily Management, and Kanban to drive operational excellence
- Change Management: Act as a change agent, implementing best practices to transform supply chain operations
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience: 10 years with 5 years of Leadership Experience
- Lean Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean practices like 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Kanban
- Skills: Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with WMS and TMS logistics software
- Certifications: Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift boxes up to 40lbs, perform tasks using ladders, and handle tools as needed
- Attributes: Energetic, reliable, goal-oriented, and a strategic problem solver with a proactive approach to managing ambiguity
