The Position
The Cash Applications Analyst will be responsible for the appropriate application of customer payments received, primarily through working the customer case queue. In performing his/her duties, the Cash Applications Analyst will need to be proficient at researching unapplied payments, communicating with customers to fully identify and resolve the issue, and working effectively cross-functionally across other Quench teams, such as Care and Collections. Additional responsibilities may include: working with customers to correct their payment processes (i.e. coordinate with customers to update bank information; remind customers to send in remittance details for electronic payments), facilitate customers who wish to switch payment methods (i.e. from non-electronic to electronic; auto-pay), work with internal collections team to verify or obtain remittance details, and other related ad hoc projects.
Essential Functions
- Research customer emails via a Salesforce case queue, including remittance details, mis-applications, proof of payment notifications, refund requests and other cash-related account requests
- Determine and execute the appropriate course of action to fully resolve the customer issue
- Collaborate with other teams on larger account queries and items that require further investigation and action
- Review, research, and initiate refunds for unapplied cash
- Respond to customer requests for assistance in changing or updating their payment methods
- Perform other process improvement or cash application-related ad hoc projects, as necessary
Qualifications
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in cash applications or accounts receivable in an ERP system
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts related to billing and cash applications required; undergraduate degree in accounting or business a plus
- Strong research skills and attention to detail
- Extremely organized with strong data entry skills
- Customer service experience a plus
- High degree of professional integrity; really cares about getting the right answer
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
