What are the responsibilities and job description for the Evening Weekend Instructor position at Quentin Burdick Job Corps?
The Evening and Weekend Studies Instructor provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and basic skills (academic) training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties:
Plan, prepare, and provide meaningful instruction related to individual student learning goals and objectives.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Utilizes a variety of assessment tools and analyzes student data to develop individualized instruction.
- Thinks flexibly and adapts lessons to the needs of individual student learning styles.
- Conducts assessments to diagnose areas of difficulty.
- Identifies appropriate materials and designs instruction to meet individual student needs by developing curriculum aligned with trade certifications and academics tests.
- Identify and prepare potential students for the ACT and AT programs and refer students for application, enrollment, and financial aid.
- Identify trade related skills and projects that can be taught and reinforced in an academic setting, integrating technical instruction to reading, writing, math and employability skills.
- Documents student’s progress in case notes at least monthly.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- North Dakota Teaching certification required.
