Business Unit Leader - Southeast Florida
Quest Corporation of America, Inc. (Quest) is seeking a self-motivated Business Unit Leader (BUL)/PIO to join our team in the Southeast Florida area. The candidate must reside in one of the following counties: Broward, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Martin, or Indian River. The candidate is responsible for regional leadership and operations management of all staff, activities, and contracts under the direction of the regional Executive Vice President (EVP).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for creating and executing an annual Strategic Business Plan, developing strategic goals, identifying business opportunities, and guiding the growth of your designated program by leading efforts to grow the business.
- Responsible for production, staff performance, monitoring workflow output, quality, and customer services.
- Responsible for achieving long-term goals and objectives by attracting, recruiting, retaining, and training team members.
- Responsible for managing employee and customer relationships.
- Responsible for pursuits through captures (includes research and preparation of proposals and Teaming efforts), hiring resources, contracts management, meeting and/or exceeding financial goals, progress reporting as required by your EVP, and minimizing the company’s expenses without compromising high-quality operations and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for project management of regional contracts.
- Serving as a regional liaison between consultants and clients; developing techniques to support overall contract objectives and obligations. Serves as an ambassador for their region, public speaking/presentations, and identifies new growth opportunities.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with the FDOT consultants, partners, and clients in the Southeast region.
- Maintaining contract and administrative documentation and project management activities on Monday.com.
- Increasing the region's contacts with additional new contacts at existing partner organizations/agencies, FDOT, and consultants within the internal database.
Specific Contractual Responsibilities:
- Developing and executing community awareness plans, including communicating with internal customers, the public, media, and elected officials.
- Field, mediate and document issues from the public related to projects.
- Design and maintain a favorable public image for the organization and customer.
- Coordinate public outreach activities and events.
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders affected by or interested in projects.
- Leverage existing relationships to help achieve our organization’ and client’s missions.
- Responsible for leading communications on multiple projects.
- Customer-service focus required.
- Leads planning and implementation of public meetings and special events.
- Manage a project informational hotline and be responsive to community questions and concerns.
- Create written content and collaborate with creative graphics and/or video team to develop project educational materials.
- Develop strategic alliances and partnerships.
- Adhere to government communications protocols and other requirements.
- Able to work in a constantly evolving, confidential environment, and to travel by use of a vehicle to multiple locations.
Professional Requirements:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, psychology, business management, or comparable studies.
- Must have 5 years of leadership, operations management, or project management experience.
- Must have 3 years of public involvement, public relations, media, or community outreach experience, preferably in infrastructure working for or serving a state or municipal agency.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Talent for understanding, simplifying, and effectively communicating complex information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to perform responsibilities with a significant degree of independence, initiative, creativity, and expert judgment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Deadline and detail-oriented.
- Familiarity with digital communications, including websites and social media.
Professional Preferred Skills:
- Bi-lingual, multi-lingual
- Government background/FDOT knowledge
- Master’s degree in communications
- Project Management certification
