The Quest Defense Product Definition Team is looking for a focused and skilled leader to guide drafting and model-based definition efforts for complex aerospace products. This role requires a proactive team player with strong initiative, ready to lead in a fast-paced environment.
Role Summary:
You'll lead a team in creating 3D models and 2D drawings of military aircraft components, ensuring compliance with engineering, manufacturing, and customer requirements. This includes managing GD&T standards, performing tolerance analyses, and defining best practices for traditional drafting and model-based definition in aerospace.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 10-15 in drafting and model-based definition for jet engine components.
- Oversee the creation of 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM.
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to aerospace standards through tolerance stack-up analyses and GD&T practices.
- Develop and maintain training, standards, and workflows for the Product Definition team.
- Represent Quest Defense in customer meetings, ensuring alignment on technical goals and execution.
- Collaborate across subsystems and modules to support product definition reviews.
Requirements:
- STEM degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in ASME Y14.5M 2018 GD&T standards, Siemens NX, and Teamcenter PLM.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- On-site work split between East Hartford and Windsor Locks, CT.
Preferred:
- BSME or advanced engineering degree with 10 years of experience.
- Experience in drafting/model-based definition for aerospace components.

- Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.
- Substantial amounts of telephone,video conferencing and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
