Position Description
Quest Energy Group (Quest) is seeking an entry level engineer to help the Company provide our energy consulting services to our clients. The candidate should have basic knowledge in building energy efficiency and commercial HVAC system investigation, design, and/or operation. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working directly with and presenting to clients, writing technical reports, and utilizing building simulation energy modeling software. This position is ultimately responsible for delivering high quality, cost effective and innovative technical analysis consistent with Quest Energy Group’s vision, strategic goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or architectural discipline or related field
- Demonstrated ability to manage clients, staff, and tasks to quality, budget, and deadlines
- Ability to deliver high quality work products in a fast-paced consulting environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office 2010, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in commercial building analysis and/or energy efficiency applications
- Experience in energy modeling using EnergyPlus, DOE2, or eQUEST.
- Extensive knowledge of building science, HVAC, electrical, and other industrial systems
- History utility incentive programs, LEED, Green Globes, or energy efficiency based tax deductions
- Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC energy codes
- Secondary language skills in Spanish or Japanese
Scope of Work and Responsibilities:
- Perform energy analysis tasks using advanced spreadsheets and building simulation software for evaluations of new and existing commercial buildings and write or oversee the writing of technical reports and/or presentations to summarize results.
- Oversee and direct junior staff and other team members that would assist in analysis and/or report tasks
- Collaborate with design teams and internal consultants to identify effective energy efficiency measures for the built environment.
- Effectively communicate proposed solutions to clients using high quality visual and verbal communication.
- Manage multiple simultaneous energy consulting projects from inception to close.
- Manage time and budget of projects to complete tasks before deadlines
- Perform energy audits in existing buildings. Collect notes, set up data collection instrumentation, inspect building and HVAC systems, analyze findings and create recommendations.
- Assist in business development process by contributing to proposals and bid phase
- Ensure compliance to contracts in all projects and support invoicing and accounting tasks

- This is a full-time and a permanent position.
