Job Requirements
Work Experience
Risk Evaluation: Assess potential risks associated with equipment and processes to prioritize inspections.
Training and Guidance: Train team members on RBI methodologies and ensure consistency in application.
Review and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and heat and material balance calculations.
Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, reduce operational costs, and maximize production yields.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with high-pressure systems, flammable substances, and hazardous operations.
Conduct Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
Diagnose and resolve process-related issues, including equipment failures, off-spec production, and operational bottlenecks.
Develop troubleshooting guides and contingency plans for process deviations.
Collaborate with vendors and technology providers to implement new equipment or software solutions.
Maintain documentation and records for audits, certifications, and inspections.
Stay updated on changing regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
Conduct periodic process audits to identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare detailed reports for management and stakeholders on process performance and improvement initiatives.
Serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced team members.
Develop training materials, operating manuals, and process guidelines.
Collaborate with project teams on new facility designs or modifications to existing facilities.
Identify and implement measures to reduce energy consumption, emissions, and waste.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and help develop mitigation strategies.
Evaluate the feasibility of upgrading aging assets and recommend strategies for asset lifecycle extension.
Tools and Systems Commonly Used by Process SMEs:
Simulation Software: Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, or OLGA.
