Education & Work Experience:
- Technical Engineering Degree
- 3 total years relevant experience in metals-based Manufacturing / Quality Engineering role(s)
- 2 years within the Aerospace & Defense Industry – preferred.
- Experience with turbo-machinery hardware / turbine engines – noteworthy.
- Manufacturing or Quality Certifications - noteworthy
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Utilize your experience, quality/manufacturing process skills, and your passion to continuously improve to elevate the quality signature of production military/commercial gas-turbine engine hardware for our customer.
- Engage in the non-conforming material evaluation process (Material Review Board – MRB) in ways to help provide timely, cost efficient, and accurate product dispositions.
- Likewise, participate in generating product and/or process Continuous Improvement ideas aimed at reducing COPQ. Support in areas such as data gathering, data analysis, defining the problem (idea generation), and cost-benefit analysis.
- Round-out your work by assessing direct and adjacent Manufacturing and Inspection Planning processes considering the non-conformance information learned as a feedback loop.
- This is an on-site production-oriented role with customer interaction at various levels as well as being an effective liaison with our supporting global team.
- Future work could involve similar work at suppliers, or performing other common Manufacturing, Operations, or Quality Engineering activities.
- Help the company grow its services and market share.
Work Experience
Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
- General understanding of the gas turbine engine and its workings
- Familiar with specialized materials (metals/composites/coatings) and modern manufacturing equipment, processes, and controls
- Familiar with manufacturing equipment set-up, tools, and material handling
- Proficient in reading technical drawings that include GD&T symbols and quality requirements
- Conversant on gage selection, R&R studies, Calibration, SPC charting, and Process Capability
- Knowledge of Production Planning Process – Right First Time
- Knowledge of Inspection Planning Process – Build in Quality; KPI, KPC
- Versed in Part Qualification Process (Control Plans, PFMEA, MSA, Op Sheets, PPAP, & FAI).
- Familiar with the control and evaluation process used for Non-Conforming Material
- Versed in Continuous Improvement and Lean processes. Conducting formal RC-CA analysis.
- Ability to interact with electronic tool including: MRP (SAP) / Operations systems (Solumina) / Document Management (DDM) / Drawing PLM (Teamcenter)
- Able to mine, summarize and convey technical data/results - both written and verbally.
- Conduct common statistical analysis (Minitab, etc.)
- Possess advanced MS office tool skills (Excel – charts, pivot tables lookups, macros; PowerPoint - tech presentations; Word – procedural writing). Data reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik, etc.)
- Shop floor experience
- Customer relationship building skills

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Shop Floor Environments. Use of PPE.

- Typically includes substantial amounts of computer work – but can also include hands-on activities (e.g. lifting, inspecting, transporting, etc.)
- Heavily regulated industry with strict adherence to procedures and standard work
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, OT
- Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
- Full-Time salary role (40hr/wk) w/ company benefits and paid OT (per policy).
- Shift: M-F flexible without compromise to our customers’ needs. Unpaid Lunch.
