We have an immediate opening for an Operations Support Associate at our aerospace location in Rockford, ILL. The primary focus of this role is to support strategic planning efforts, solutions for program problems, contract negotiations, and manages important vendors
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supports strategic planning efforts, solutions for program problems, contract negotiations, and manages important vendors.
- Status updates on work in process and updating the schedule daily
- Coordinating work between support staff functions (ME’s, Quality, Engineering, etc.)
- Update program slide deck for Operations daily to meet the expectations required for the daily program call/review
- Provide a weekly risk assessment of schedule adherence to the POM and Operations Manager
- Incorporate information provided by Program Team members into a Rolling action item list, manage completion of actions and provide a daily status to the Program Operations Manager. Action Items must include a description of the action, who identified the action, who has the current action, the date the action was assigned and the due date for completion.
- Coordinate shipping paperwork and inventory as needed for quality testing, testing and shipments to the customer and/or supplier
- Auditing of Non-Conforming Material inventory monthly to ensure MRP system aligns with physical inventory hold locations
- Support kit releases, WIP and any production required actions to ensure on time delivery to the customer
- Identify and support continuous improvement activities as needed
- Drive Root Cause Analysis closure with support staff.
Work Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education & experience:
- High School Diploma or GED with 8 years’ experience in an engineering/manufacturing support role.
- Associate Degree in manufacturing related discipline with 5 years’ experience in an engineering/manufacturing support role.
- Intermediate experience in MS Office Suite
- Ability to manage a Project Schedule
- Ability to maintain and update a Line of Balance
- MRP System Experience
- Coordinating efforts with a multi-functional Team
- Multi-Tasking
- Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Office and Shop Floor Environments.
- Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
- Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
- Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
- Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
- Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.

Hourly rate: $26.44 to $31.25 DOE
