Regulatory Advisor - Drilling Operations

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Regulatory Advisor to work as the primary liaison between the drilling team and surveyors and other key stakeholders. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless communication, accurate data collection, and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating survey activities, interpreting survey data, and working with regulatory permits related to well locations and drilling operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the drilling team and surveyors, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
  • Coordinate survey schedules and activities to align with drilling project timelines and requirements.
  • Ensure accurate collection, transfer, and interpretation of survey data to support well planning and drilling operations.
  • Address any issues or discrepancies that arise during the surveying process and collaborate with both teams to find solutions.
  • Ensure all surveying activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare and share reports on survey findings with the drilling team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to surveyors, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information.
  • Interpret permit documents and information related to well locations and plats.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with the permitting process, drilling permits, sundry process, and commingling requirements.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

Knowledge of BLM (Bureau of Land Management) rules and regulations related to drilling permits is an added advantage.

Work Experience

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Bachelor's degree with experience in environmental science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in emissions monitoring, data management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in survey coordination, drilling operations, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, drilling operations, and well planning.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret survey data effectively.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to address issues proactively.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for data collection and reporting.
