The Team Lead – Quality Technitician will oversee a group of Quality Technicians/Inspectors supporting aero-engine component inspections for Pratt & Whitney (PW) customers in Oklahoma City. This role ensures daily operations are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with aerospace quality standards while fostering a high-performance team environment..
Roles & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and support a team of Quality Technicians performing inspection, documentation, and quality verification of aerospace components.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Quality Technicians and the Project Manager.
- Conduct daily stand-up meetings to assign tasks, review priorities, and address team challenges.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to improve team performance and technical proficiency.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and compliance requirements.
Quality Control & Process Oversight
- Monitor and ensure accuracy in inspections, documentation, and data entry.
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues related to inspections, gaging, and measurement techniques.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Pratt & Whitney customers to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality non-conformances.
Operational Support & Communication
- Act as a liaison between technicians, engineers, and management to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Support performance tracking and reporting, ensuring team KPIs are met.
- Assist in resource allocation, scheduling, and workload management.
- Provide feedback to management on team performance, operational challenges, and process improvements.
Work Experience
- 3 years of experience in quality inspection, aerospace manufacturing, or operations.
- Experience leading or mentoring teams in a regulated, technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of inspection techniques, including GD&T, part drawings, and gaging tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data entry systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams and customers.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to contract requirements.
