General Purpose of Job:
Manage in-school, afterschool and summer enrichment programs, classes and activities
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Plans and coordinates regular school wide events and activities, including school trips, performances, events, spirit weeks and other community building efforts.
- Plans, implements and oversees afterschool activities, including creating activity plans, implementing schedules and supervising staff execution.
- Plans, implements and oversees summer camp program, including creating weekly activity plans, coordinating field trips, and supervising staff execution.
- Serve as liaison to all contracted vendor activities including coordinating routine weekly classes, planning special events and performing administrative duties.
- Creates weekly lesson plans and supplemental learning activities for students based on national, local and school standards for assigned subject area(s) during school day.
- Differentiates lessons/activities to give all students access regardless of ability, instructional level, or level of interest in the subject.
- Establishes an effective classroom/group management system (i.e., routines, transitions, expectations, individual and/or group contingencies, etc.)
- Implements curriculum/activity content, including individual and group modifications, independently. Coordinates additional resource needs with Director.
- Manages children who are assigned and ensure their safety at all times.
- Delivers high quality, engaging instruction in the form of direct teaching, demonstrations, and independent practice. Conducts group and individual teaching sessions for students as scheduled.
- Actively participates in the development of IEP goals and programs for assigned students utilizing data from assessments, progress reporting and other methods to set individualized goals in assigned subject area(s). Attends all IEP meetings as required.
- Evaluates student performance on skills established by the standards through direct observation and daily data collection, as well as curriculum-based assessments (when applicable).
- Identifies acquisition deficits/barriers and develops strategies to remedy.
- Monitors acquisition and deceleration programs, and the attendant data.
- Makes changes in acquisition and deceleration programs that are timely and linked to an assessment.
- Completes all reports as required.
- Maintains professional relationships and contact with parents through parent-teacher conferences, telephone, or written communications.
- Maintains all records as required, including but not limited to program goal data, student progress reports, etc.
- Follows student behavioral protocols and programs in conjunction with behavior team. Implement emergency procedures for problem behavior as needed.
- Supervises, trains, and monitors Assistant Teachers during assigned classroom/activity blocks.
- Reports to work during inclement weather to ensure adequate supervision and care of all program participants. This may include sheltering in place during a hurricane.
- Ensures compliance with any and all regulations pertaining to behavioral programming.
- Follow all emergency procedures during a drill or in an actual emergency.
- Attend all required training and monthly staff meetings.
- Follow all Quest policies and procedures.
- Employees are required to report serious issues to the employee hotline or to a Quest leader under the See Something Say Something policy.
- Management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different tasks be performed as assigned.
- 18 years of age or older required.
- B.S. with either emphasis in Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or Recreation highly preferred
- 5 years of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience with ABA highly preferred.
