This position will be working with older students focusing on transitional skills and community inclusion trips. The ideal candidate within this role has experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and possesses an affinity for math including financial literacy.

Essential Functions:
- Create daily lesson plans and supplemental learning activities for students based on national, local and school standards
- Deliver high quality, engaging instruction in the form of direct teaching, demonstrations, and independent practice
- Differentiate lessons to give all students access to the curriculum regardless of ability, instructional level, or level of interest in the subject
- Establish an effective classroom management system (routines, transitions, expectations, individual and/or group contingencies
- Evaluate student performance on skills established by the standards through direct observation and daily data collection, as well as curriculum-based assessments
- Be active participant in the development of IEP goals and programs for assigned students utilizing data from assessments, progress reporting and other methods to set individualized goals in assigned subject area(s)
- Implement curriculum content, including individual and group modification, independently. Coordinate additional curriculum resource needs with Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
- Identify acquisition deficits/barriers and develop strategies to remedy.
- Monitor acquisition and deceleration programs, and the attendant data.
- Follow student behavioral protocols and programs in conjunction with BCBA. Implement emergency procedures for problem behavior as needed.
- Make changes in acquisition and deceleration programs that are timely and linked to an assessment.
- Manage children who are assigned and ensure their safety.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress- successes, potential behavior- through progress notes, Class Dojo, email and parent-teacher conferences.
- Assist in supervision, training, and monitoring of assistants, RBTs and interns.
- Receive and apply feedback from school director and behavior analyst to continuously improve instructional practices, classroom management, and student outcomes
- Assist with initial assessments of prospective students.
- Attend all weekly staff meetings.
- Attend IEP meetings and provide input as necessary.
- Complete all reports that are required.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of classrooms.
- Ensure compliance with any and all regulations pertaining to behavioral programming and to Quest’s personnel policies.
- Perform all other duties as required.
- 18 years of age or older required
- B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching OR
- 2 years of teaching experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Florida State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area (highly preferred)
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
