Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for a cardiothoracic surgery locum position in Dayton, OH. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing surgical team at a Level 1 Trauma Center. Key Details:
- Dates: ASAP - Ongoing
- Schedule: Typically 7 days on, 7 days off (flexible)
- First Surgical Case Start: Between 7:00 - 7:30 AM
- End of Day: Between 4:30 - 5:00 PM
- Call Requirements: After-hours beeper call (not in-house) for consults. Weekend rotation for inpatient rounding (1:4).
Case Mix:
- 80-90% in the OR
- 10-20% inpatient rounding and consults
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- First Assist in cardiothoracic surgeries
- Conduit harvesting
- Inpatient rounding and consults
- Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (Maquet Vasioview HemoPro 2)
- Possible Procedures: Placement of arterial and venous lines, Removal of chest tubes, packing wires, IABPs, ECMO decannulation, Rare chest tube insertion (with attending surgeon assistance)
Additional Information:
- The CT surgery team does not handle advanced heart failure, VADs, or transplants.
- EMR: EPIC
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Advanced Practice
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- BLS, ACLS, DEA Certifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
