Beginning immediately – Questar III BOCES is seeking a full-time instructor for its Gaming and Multimedia program located at The Robert H Gibson Technical School in Troy, NY. If you are innovative and enthusiastic about technology, CTE, and supporting students looking to pursue their interest in this exciting career field, this is a wonderful opportunity. This will be a co-teaching position.
This two-year program will teach students how to use multimedia technology to produce games or artistic effects and how to design graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs. Students will collaborate with others to create innovative game and role-play simulations, storylines, and character biographies. They will also study how the teams behind well-known games use these core topics to build immersive gaming experiences. The teacher will be responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing the curriculum that provides an enriching exploration of the gaming and multimedia field. They will also support students in exploring gaming and multimedia concepts and applications and help them develop a deeper understanding of career fields in those areas.
Minimum Requirements : Candidates must possess, or be willing to pursue, a NYS teaching certification in Computer Technology or applicable CTE area. Applicable work experience will qualify an applicant to pursue NYS certification through the non-traditional Transitional A teacher pathway (advanced degrees are not required). Applicants with experience working in the gaming and multimedia industry are encouraged to apply.
