Position Overview

Our Senior Safety Consultant is responsible for supporting an assigned group of Questco clients with all aspects of workplace safety and workers compensation regulatory compliance and reporting. Collaborating closely with our client service team, you will assess risks, develop safety policies, conduct on-site inspections, and implement strategies to mitigate workplace hazards across a large base of clients. You will provide expert guidance, support, and training to clients to help them establish and maintain safe work environments. This role requires a deep understanding of safety regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients through both in-person and virtual interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from client companies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, including executives, managers, and frontline employees.
  • Client Safety Compliance Management
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, HR consultants, and client services, to ensure alignment on safety initiatives and client deliverables based on multiple financial and risk-based factors.
  • Monitor client safety compliance and conduct regular safety audits and inspections of worksites, both virtually and on-site.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local safety regulations applicable to client industries.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans with client companies.
  • Complete safety inspections required by carriers and State agencies including appropriate follow-up on action plans.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting
  • Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root causes.
  • Prepare comprehensive incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Injury and Claims Assistance
  • Assist clients and Questco’s Claims Management team with communications and updates on open claims.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Utilize “Safety CultureTM“ online system to complete risk assessments for assigned prospects and new clients.
  • Collaborate with client teams to identify potential workplace hazards and assess risks.
  • Recommend and implement strategies to mitigate client risks and prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and risk reduction plans.
  • Provide recommendations on risk management and safety best practices.
  • Policy Development and Implementation
  • Assist clients in developing comprehensive safety policies and procedures tailored to their specific needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols within client organizations.
  • Training and Education
  • Set up client’s safety program and train them to use Questco’s online Risk Management Center (RMC) system.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for client employees, supervisors, and managers.
  • Educate clients on relevant safety topics, such as hazard communications, emergency preparedness, and ergonomics.
  • Activity Tracking and Continuous Improvement
  • Implement systems and tools to track compliance activities, including audits, investigations, policy reviews, and training completion. Generate reports and metrics to assess safety efforts effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of client safety programs and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement enhancements to promote a culture of client safety excellence.
  • Complete with excellence all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Candidates with degrees in related fields such as Risk Management, Safety Management, Business, or relevant disciplines preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in safety management, preferably in a multi-state consulting or PEO environment.
  • Certification in risk management or safety (e.g., Certified Risk Manager or Certified Safety Professional) is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work flexible schedules when needed to support business needs.
  • Significant viewing of a computer terminal with wrist/finger movement to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Requires sitting or standing for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. periodically.
  • Safely visit and walk construction sites and manufacturing facilities.
  • Bend, reach, pull, stoop, and push are all elements of physical activity for this position.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English – speak, read, and write.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.

Travel

  • Travel is required, including overnight stays, with an expectation of some overnight travel not exceeding 20%.
  • Ability to safely drive long and short distances throughout the day to various client locations.
