Systems Test Engineer-

POSITION SUMMARY :
This position focuses on the test execution of a Tier 1 Customer project to bring the integrated automation solution to life in a new e-commerce greenfield distribution centre (DC) just outside Charlotte, NC. The role involves executing test cases and documenting results, logging defects, and managing resolution to complete final validations and ensure delivery quality. This position requires routine travel to the customer site weekdays during normal business hours. Individuals will work with a team of about 12 test engineers as software, controls, and automation subsystems are turned over by suppliers for fully integrated testing of the solution before handing it off to the end customer. Test engineers will have an opportunity to become functional experts on the design around WMS, WES, and WCS applications while getting hands-on with goods-to-person, pocket sortation, print-and-apply, conveyors and sortation, singulators, and auto-packaging technology. This 1.4M square-foot DC is designed to handle a variety of consumer goods from footwear and apparel to cosmetics and home goods, creating some unique design challenges that require careful and experienced validation of software, equipment, operations, and facility readiness.
Primary Responsibilities :
Provide technical and functional support during test execution phases of implementation
Become a subject matter expert (SME) of the implementation; work with various workstreams to identify and resolve defects in both internal and customer facing phases of the project
Gather, organize, and analyze data or systems-related information to support troubleshooting.
Utilize knowledge and experience in problem-solving of complex automation subsystems
Ensure WMS / WCS / WES and subsystem processes are consistent with functional and technical specifications and operational requirements
Understand customer operational business rules, processes and concepts to support test execution
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills, both internal to us as well as the customer
Articulate communications, both written and oral, to customer and our teams with strong presence, creditability, professionalism, and content knowledge as the SME of the overall solution
Demonstrate and promote teamwork and cooperation
Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, business management or other fields related to the role
Minimum 5 years of experience managing operations or implementing change (new software or equipment) within an automated distribution center
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving, and management capabilities
Ability to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance
Ability to work well in small teams and independently as needed
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal
Desire to continually add value to and ensure accuracy and quality in all work performed
Ability to travel 75% to Charlotte, NC (USA)
