Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Oversight: Spearhead the maintenance and updating of inventory records through advanced software systems or manual tracking as necessary. Lead accurate stock counts, reconcile any discrepancies, and monitor stock movement to ensure all data remains current and precise.
- Cycle Count Management: Implement regular cycle counts according to a predefined schedule, overseeing the physical counting of specific inventory subsets to verify accuracy against recorded levels. Address any discrepancies identified, updating inventory records to enhance accuracy and reduce the necessity for extensive annual counts.
- Order Fulfillment Leadership: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure stock is replenished for pick and pack orders promptly and precisely.
- Stock Organization Strategy: Strategize inventory organization to maximize storage efficiency and retrieval speed. Utilize effective labeling and categorization to ensure quick identification and minimize errors.
- Quality Control Initiatives: Conduct consistent quality inspections to guarantee inventory is in optimal condition, paying special attention to perishables or items with limited shelf lives.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep meticulous records of inventory transactions, levels, and issues. Produce regular reports detailing inventory status, movement, and trends for management evaluation.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment with warehouse associates, supervisors, and management to streamline inventory processes and promote a unified operational approach.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to all relevant safety guidelines and regulations, including the handling of hazardous materials, ensuring a safe workplace.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and champion improvements in inventory management practices, participating actively in initiatives aimed at enhancing warehouse efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills/Abilities and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certifications in inventory management or related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related role, with a track record of increasing responsibility.
- Proficient in the use of a WMS (Warehouse Management System), with Da Vinci Unified WMS system experience highly regarded.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills for high-level inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- A sharp eye for detail essential for spotting discrepancies and potential errors to ensure inventory precision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English for effective team coordination and accurate inventory documentation.
- Solid computer literacy, with a proficiency in inventory management software and an aptitude for adopting new technological tools.
