Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly responsible person to join our team as a Vehicle Compliance Inspector within our Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) site. As a Vehicle Compliance Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting vehicles (cars, trucks, trailers, etc.) entering the FTZ site to ensure they comply with all relevant regulations and requirements. Your expertise in assessing vehicle compliance will play a crucial role in maintaining the security, safety, and efficiency of our FTZ operations.
Key Responsibilities
- · Vehicle Compliance Inspection: Conduct thorough and meticulous inspections of vehicles entering the FTZ site to verify compliance with all relevant regulations, including but not limited to customs, safety, emissions, and documentation requirements.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all inspections conducted, including vehicle details, inspection outcomes, and any deviations or non-compliance issues identified.
- Safety and Security: Work in compliance with safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the adherence of all drivers and vehicles to security measures within the FTZ site.
- Communication: Collaborate with the Shipping & Receiving Manager, VP Operations, and other relevant personnel to report any compliance concerns or issues promptly. Effectively communicate inspection results and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Compliance Recommendations: Advise vehicle owners, drivers, or relevant parties about any identified non-compliance issues and assist in outlining corrective actions required for entry into the FTZ.
- Training and Knowledge Enhancement: Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations, industry standards, and FTZ policies to enhance your expertise in vehicle compliance inspection. Participate in training sessions and workshops as required.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment, such as measuring tools and safety devices, to ensure accurate assessments.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of vehicle inspection processes by offering suggestions and implementing best practices.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse employees to maintain a smooth flow of operations within the FTZ site.
Required Skills/Abilities and Education:
- · High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
- 2 years proven experience in vehicle inspection, security, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and safety standards is highly advantageous.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills to identify potential compliance issues.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions based on inspection outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills to convey inspection results and collaborate effectively with team members and external parties.
- Familiarity with inspection equipment and tools is desirable.
- Physical capability to perform outdoor vehicle inspections, which will include bending, kneeling, and climbing when necessary.
- Proficiency in using basic computer applications and record-keeping systems.
