Job Summary:
Responsible for performing varying tasks at the job location they have been assigned too. A Lumper will adhere to safety regulations and maintain high standards of efficiency and productivity in their work. This is a crucial role that contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse or distribution center. Responsibilities may differ from job description depending on the location of the assignment.
Position Details:
- 1st shift/3rd shift: start times vary
- 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts (must be available when needed)
- MondayFriday OT and weekends as needed
- Pay per container!
- Weekly Pay
- Direct hire
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OFFLOADING BY HAND
- Must be able to travel to different locations in the IE
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently remove items from shipping containers and arrange them onto pallets.
- Thoroughly examine incoming, stored, and outgoing shipments to identify damages, missing items, or incomplete pallets.
- Arrange goods systematically based on specified criteria, such as sorting by item number, SKU, or other relevant factors.
- Properly position and secure items onto pallets for loading into shipping containers or trailers.
- Secure shipments to prevent movement and damage of goods during transportation.
- Verify that all labels are correctly affixed and readable, providing accurate information about the contents.
- Assist truck drivers in safely positioning their vehicles at loading docks to facilitate efficient and secure loading and unloading.
- Keep the work area tidy and free from potential hazards to ensure the safety of oneself and fellow workers.
- Creating pallets and/or moving boxes of up to 50lbs.
- Move items to assigned storage locations efficiently and in an organized manner.
- Apply shrink wrap or protective material to secure and stabilize palletized items for safe transport.
- Load properly palletized goods onto shipping containers or trucks for transportation.
- Managing, organizing and retrieving stock from the warehouse.
- Loading and unloading delivery trucks or containers and storing items in their designated locations.
- Record and maintain accurate product inventory.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and quality control.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and prioritize tasks.
- Must be able to report to different warehouse location if and when needed.
- Other tasks assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least a year of warehouse experience preferred.
- Excellent handeye coordination and depth perception.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform the required duties, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to work/collaborate in team(s).
- Excellent time management skills.
- Able and willing to work in a different warehouse location if and when needed.
- Reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds on a regular basis.
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity, if necessary.
- Ability to hear and understand audible signals and instructions in a noisy environment.
- Good vision, including depth perception and peripheral vision, to safely maneuver the forklift and navigate through the facility.
- Exposure to load noises and vibration.
- Clear verbal and nonverbal communication abilities to follow instructions, collaborate with team members, and report any safety concerns promptly.
- Ability to maneuver within confined spaces, climb ladders, work on elevated platforms, and maintain balance while walking on uneven surfaces.
- Manual Dexterity for safely handling, manipulating, and controlling various sizes of items, packages, and machinery.
