The Operations Workforce Development Trainer reports to the Direct of Training and is responsible for delivering targeted, role-specific training to key direct labor team members after they complete their initial new hire orientation. This role ensures that employees transitioning into operational roles, as well as those transferring or being promoted, have the necessary job-specific knowledge, technical skills, and compliance awareness to succeed. The trainer collaborates with department leaders, compliance teams, and other relevant leadership to align training programs with company policies, industry standards, and EMS billing best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Position-Specific Training: Conduct in-depth training for new hires following their general new hire orientation, focusing on role-specific tasks, workflows, and systems.
- Structured Learning Plans: Develop and implement structured training programs tailored to each job role within the organization.
- Process & Compliance Training: Educate employees on EMS billing processes, payer guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and other compliance requirements.
- Hands-On System Training: Guide employees through practical, system-based training on billing software, claim processing, and other tools essential for their roles.
- Performance Assessments: Administer skill assessments and knowledge checks to ensure trainees meet job expectations before transitioning to their roles independently.
- Ongoing Coaching & Support: Provide refresher training and individual coaching as needed to reinforce best practices and improve performance.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with department leaders and quality assurance teams to refine training programs based on performance metrics and evolving business needs.
- Training Documentation & Reporting: Maintain training records, track employee progress, and report on training effectiveness. Recommends improvements to training programs and implements changes in a timely manner.
- Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
- Assists in gathering training evidence to comply with audits or regulatory requests.
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in EMS billing, RCM, medical coding, or a related healthcare billing environment. Experience in training, coaching, or mentoring preferred.
- Certified Ambulance Coder (CAC) certification or QMC Biller Certification or achieve within 90 days of assuming position
- Strong knowledge of EMS billing workflows, payer guidelines, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train employees with diverse learning styles.
- Ability to develop and adapt training materials to meet evolving company needs.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and learning management systems (LMS).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training sessions and projects simultaneously.
