Job Summary
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal guidance on acquisitions, financing, joint ventures, development, strategic alliances, and other business arrangements. This role requires a minimum of 7 to 10 years of legal experience in commercial real estate and/or M&A experience at a top-tier law firm or corporate legal department.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day legal advice and oversight to management, development team members, strategic partners, and governmental officials on real estate and M&A matters.
- Manage and coordinate outside real estate counsel and related legal expenses.
- Review and approve legal fees for payment.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve operational efficiencies in teams.
- Collaborate with the legal and real estate teams to ensure operational excellence.
Requirements
This role requires a lawyer with exceptional organizational skills, outstanding business judgment, and a proven track record of working independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of commercial property acquisition and development, including buy/sell contract drafting and negotiation, land use, title review, due diligence, construction, ground leasing, and M&A transactions.
