Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical modeling and drafting using Solidworks.

Participate in prototyping, installation, and testing of equipment – be eager to turn wrenches, cut metal, and get your hands dirty.
Design products optimized for manufacturability, leveraging in-house laser cutting and fabrication.

Formal Job Summary :
The R&D Mechanical Engineer – Level 2 will be responsible for leading complex mechanical design products and research projects. This includes full system design in the following disciplines :
Water and chemical pumping systems
High-voltage electrical systems
Hydraulic systems
This role requires cross-departmental collaboration to gather requirements from stakeholders, coordinate prototype and manufacturable builds, plan and execute prototype and validation testing, and strategize for supply chain and pricing considerations.
Desired Duties and Responsibilities :
Create detailed models and drawings in SOLIDWORKS using foundational best practices for easy collaboration, editing, and change management.
Design and engineer cost-optimized, manufacturable, serviceable, and long-lasting car wash equipment by leveraging knowledge of metal fabrication, material technology, coatings, mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical technology.
Perform FEA studies as necessary on different design elements.
Troubleshoot complex engineering problems that may arise during design, manufacturing, or testing, making quick decisions to keep projects on track.
Manage project planning, scheduling, and execution, including setting goals, budgets, and timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, manufacturing, supply chain, and product teams) in planning and executing projects.
Oversee prototype development to test and validate designs, modifying them as necessary based on test results.
Implement quality control processes to ensure manufactured products meet design specifications and quality standards.
Interact and program industrial control systems.
Create detailed technical documentation such as engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.
Stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering and seek opportunities to innovate and improve existing designs and processes.
Work independently while regularly interacting with senior management.
Serve as a high-level specialist within the team.
Qualifications and Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with 9 years of experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language.
Technical expertise in complex, distributed systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work as part of a team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
