Position: Assistant Site Manager
Position Overview
Our Assistant Site Manager reports to the Site Manager and assists in the day-to-day operations of the location including, but not limited to, scheduling of crews, vehicle maintenance, housekeeping and recordkeeping, and accountability for the storage, controls and movement of packaged and bulk product. Many tasks are performed outside in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities of the Position
- While carrying out daily responsibilities safety and compliance must be the priority. Takes personal responsibility for safety and champions company-wide safety goal of zero incidents.
- Must be reliable and able to work closely with other crew members to provide exceptional supervisory support.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and proficiency of the applicable regulations and specific requirements of handling, storing and transporting explosives and blasting agents.
- Capable of tracking and recording accurate and detailed inventory.
- Assists in manually loading vehicles according to packaging and transportation requirements for explosives and blasting agents.
- Receives product deliveries, confirms inventory and manually places products securely in magazines.
- Controls access and security of inventory.
- Coordinates the logistics of multiple daily deliveries and pick-ups to/from customer sites.
- Performs work site inspections to evaluate and mitigate risk, reporting issues as required.
- Prepares and submits logs, reports and other documents as directed.
- Available to work overtime to meet customer objectives.
- Prior work experience with hazardous materials preferred.
- Position requires ATF approval as a Responsible Person to direct the management of explosives.
- Highly organized and able to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
- Solid mathematical skills needed to keep track of daily detailed movement of inventory.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and handle physically demanding work daily.
- Must be able to sit, stoop, climb, bend, lift, twist throughout the day to perform position responsibilities.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
- Capable of learning and fulfilling responsibilities of billing and inventory systems and procedures.
Work Environment
- This position typically works at our company site in the yard and office. Drives when needed to make customer deliveries and pickups at customer locations and/or job sites.
- Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, bend, twist while working in storage units, in the yard and office.
- Yard work is outside with exposure to all weather conditions year-round.
