Summary
A leading Japanese manufacturer is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented professional to spearhead a newly established Chemical Compliance Specialist role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in chemical compliance, strong communication skills, and the ability to develop and implement company-wide policies and procedures. This role requires proactive collaboration across diverse teams and ensuring timely compliance reporting to U.S. government agencies. The ability to work independently while effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders is essential. Fluency in Japanese is a plus.
Essential Duties
- Develop, implement, and manage chemical compliance policies and procedures for North America (U.S. & Mexico), ensuring adherence to TSCA, California Prop 65, PFAS, HFC, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead compliance reporting efforts, including CDR, PFAS, and HFC reports, by gathering necessary information from key business units and production sites.
- Oversee and manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all company products. Maintain and optimize the company’s Chemtech account to ensure compliance.
- Serve as a primary liaison with regulatory agencies, Japanese business units, N.A. production sites, and external consultants to address compliance-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with Sales Divisions and N.A. Group companies to assess compliance for new and reformulated products while monitoring evolving industry regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhance awareness of compliance policies across the organization.
