Purchasing Manager
【Summary】
This position oversees both mass production and MRO purchasing operations, ensuring alignment with corporate procurement strategies and goals. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing purchasing systems and procedures, managing vendor relations, and acting as a liaison between the purchasing department and internal divisions.
【Essential Duties】
- Establish and enforce departmental purchasing policies and procedures to enhance internal service and operational efficiency.
- Approve major vendor selections and train staff to evaluate vendor performance and capabilities.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for major contracts and blanket purchase orders.
- Recommend large material purchases based on price trends or market availability, while balancing cost savings and cash flow.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with purchase terms and conditions.
- Oversee recordkeeping, including price histories and vendor performance logs.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages while minimizing excess.
- Promote a safe and organized work environment by training staff on equipment use and enforcing compliance.
- Address personnel issues by investigating concerns and recommending solutions to administration.
- Stay current on industry practices through training, networking, and participation in professional organizations.
- Contribute to departmental and company-wide goals through collaborative efforts.

【Qualifications】
Education: BA/BS in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Purchasing, including 2 years in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Knowledge of purchasing law
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and multitasking abilities
- CPM certification preferred
Working Conditions:
