General Description:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing process improvements within warehousing and logistics operations. This role focuses on enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall operational performance through lean methodologies, data analysis, and automation strategies. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Conduct time studies in all operations and define baseline productivity per function for all functions. Must have deep depth with elemental time study methodologies like MOST and WHAM.
- Identify inefficiencies in warehousing and logistics processes, analyzing workflows, and recommending improvements.
- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and labor productivity.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct time and motion studies, root cause analysis, and process mapping to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to standardize best practices and ensure sustainability of process improvements.
- Lead and support cost-reduction initiatives, automation projects, and warehouse management system (WMS) enhancements.
- Train employees and leadership on continuous improvement tools and methodologies to promote a culture of efficiency and accountability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, quality, and safety, to ensure alignment on improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate new technologies and innovations in warehousing and logistics to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices while implementing process changes.
Job Qualifications Mandatory:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in process improvement, warehouse operations, or logistics engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), automation, and inventory control practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations related to warehouse operations is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with robotics, automation, or warehouse technology solutions.
- Familiarity with transportation and distribution optimization strategies.
- Strong technical skills in process simulation and modeling software.

Work from office/warehouse.
