The primary purpose of an Echocardiograph Technician at Quickcare is to provide diagnostic patient care services utilizing ultrasound and related diagnostic techniques to perform routine, vascular, non-invasive procedures, and echocardiograms.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all departmental and operational policies.
- Assists in the maintenance of all equipment in the department, including cleaning and QA/QC procedures.
- Effectively explain ultrasound procedures to patients and answer questions they may have.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize the room in which the procedure takes place.
- Evaluate the images for quality, while accurately interpreting what was captured.
- Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
- Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
- Ensure a professional personal appearance within clinic guidelines.
- Remain flexible in staffing patterns; participates in temporary assignments.
- Compliance with attendance standards.
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
- Maintain the ability to travel between clinic locations.
- AD HOC duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
- Active certification (or eligible) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate, including applicable licensure/certification for the state of Texas.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited diagnostic medical sonography, diagnostic cardiac sonography, or vascular technology program. (RCS and ARDMS eligibility).
- Current BCLS Certification.
- CPR certification is preferred but not required.
- Graduation documentation from an industry-recognized Ultrasound Tech Program.
- Knowledgeable of radiology/ultrasound standards and experience performing in accordance with them.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, hold, push and pull 20 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must have the ability to view monitors with close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust the focus with good hand-eye coordination.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in English, including the ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend through listening.
- The position may require work at more than one location during a scheduled workweek.
- Perform all duties according to applicable regulations and Clinic policies and procedures pertaining to safety, emergency preparedness, infection control, OSHA, fire safety, and hazardous materials.

Performance may be assessed at the end of the 90-day orientation period.
