Open seven days a week with minimal waiting time, QUICKmed is staffed by licensed and certified physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistant providers to address a range of healthcare needs including minor injuries, illnesses, physicals, immunizations, lab services, and X-rays.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Advanced Practice Provider at QUICKmed Urgent Care in Wadsworth, OH. The role involves providing medical care for patients with acute illnesses or injuries, conducting physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Essential Functions:
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Providing primary care to patients
- Recording a patient’s medical history
- Updating medical records
- Documenting symptoms
- Collecting samples (blood, urine, mucus, stool, etc.)
- Ordering lab tests or diagnostic procedures as necessary
- Performing detailed examinations of the patient
- Creating and implementing treatment plans
- Coordinating with other medical professionals and specialists as necessary
- Prescribing medications
- Performing small medical procedures
- Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
- Setting up and monitoring medical equipment
- Ordering and administering diagnostic tests
- Communicating test results to patients and their families
- Recording patient medical histories
- Operating and maintaining medical equipment
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as NP /PA in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
- Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
- Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ethics, empathy & compassion
- Team spirit with a positive attitude
- Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
- Valid Ohio nurse practitioner license, PA license
- Master’s degree: PhD is a plus
- BLS, ACLS & PALS Certifications
- DEA Certification Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, grasping.
- Occasional sitting, reaching, bending and stooping.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds with assistance if needed.
- Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copier, fax machine and phone.
