As a Medical Assistant at Quickmed Urgent Care, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the medical office or hospital. You will provide both administrative and clinical assistance to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality patient care.
Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support both the patient experience and the workflow of the clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Check with patients and type up patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) strongly preferred
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- 1 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and basic computer applications
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and basic clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and a commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
