As an RN in Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU or ER you will be integral to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will utilize your core skills in patient assessment, IV insertion, and catheterization to monitor and manage patients' conditions effectively. Your premium experience with EHR systems, critical care, and quality improvement initiatives will enhance patient outcomes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to Nursing Services for supporting the nursing philosophy and providing high quality, comprehensive patient care.
- Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service
- Performs as a team leader of multi-skilled workers to accomplish plan of care for each patient
- Leads multi-skilled team to provide high quality, cost effective, comprehensive patient care.
- Independently, makes sound judgments and effective decisions relative to patient care. Performs all skills on the Registered Nurse Equipment/Skills checklist.
- Assesses patient status and need for diagnostic testing
- Completes surgery/anesthesia screen to identify patients at risk.
- Communicates pertinent findings to appropriate physician for follow-up
- Effectively interprets and communicates abnormal testing results with anesthesiologist, surgeon and/or PCP
- Maintains knowledge base of frequently ordered diagnostic tests and the significance of abnormal results
- Maintains knowledge of current practice standards and the significance on the surgical/anesthesia procedure patient
- Assesses and educates patients to properly prepare for surgery and discharge. Coordinates with the operating room and radiology special procedures to have patients ready in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:
- Current RN license in state of Ohio or covered by compact (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
- Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification RN-BC (Registered Nurse - Board Certified) (preferred)
- CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse (preferred)
- PCCN Progressive Care Certified Nurse (preferred)
- CMSRN Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (preferred)
- National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke Certification (preferred):
