Project Manager - Transportation

The project manager is directly responsible for leading teams to design and manage Municipal & Transportation projects for our clients and stakeholders in the Municipal and District Services Practice. Responsible for planning and implementing all project phases from preliminary engineering through to PS&E and construction phases. The project manager is the primary liaison with the client, monitoring the progress of performance against the project plan. This includes identifying, resolving, or escalating operational or client issues to ensure projects deliver within parameters.

Responsibilities{{:}}

• Conceptualizes the initial project scope, fee and schedule.
• Designs, communicates, and implements the operational plan for completing a project, holding self and team accountable for project deliverables
• Prepares proposals (including scope of work, fee and schedule), client agreements and sub-consultant agreements. Manages contracts and finances of project including contract, budget and cost-estimate reviews, client invoicing and initiates collection if required
• Manages activities, allocates resources, and assigns tasks to ensure task and project targets are met.
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of engineering designs, specifications, studies, construction documents, analyses, plan sets, drawings, maps, reports, and Quiddity quality processes required for project delivery.
• Creates review schedules for engineering and if required, construction, to capture changes and makes changes within defined parameters, or makes recommendations.
• Working with the construction inspection group, creates construction site inspection schedule, reviews reports and conducts construction site visits. Collaboratively addresses design issues arising during construction phase
• Communicates with regulatory agencies and may be their assigned point of contact
• Communicates regularly with clients, relaying concerns and issues candidly and tactfully.
• Assists with business development by cultivating and maintaining excellent client relationships, implementing marketing initiatives, helping with proposals, SOQs, presentations and client meetings

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or related engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Texas
• TxDOT experience and will be required to provide a list of pre-certifications
• Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience with progressively more complex experience managing transportation/roadway projects including federally funded projects
• Proficient in the use of Microstation and Geopak
• Valid TX driver's license and insurable driving record
• Client development/sales experience in the Central Texas marketplace highly preferred
