Summary:
The Advertising Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in managing and optimizing advertising campaigns. This position ensures the flawless execution of digital media buys, working with a team of ad operations specialists to deliver high-performing campaigns across programmatic, display, video, social, and other ad channels. The role requires strong technical expertise, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including media planners, creative teams, and external vendors.
Core Accountabilities:
Campaign Management:
- Serves as ad operations trafficking expert, overseeing the setup, trafficking, and execution of advertising campaigns across multiple platforms, including Google Campaign Manager, DV360, The Trade Desk, Facebook Ads Manager, and other DSPs.
- Ensures proper implementation of ad tags, tracking pixels and third-party measurement tools to accurately track performance.
- Primary point of contact in troubleshooting with ad tech vendors; resolves technical issues related to ad serving, discrepancies, and creative formatting.
- Monitors campaign delivery to ensure campaigns are running as expected and targeting objectives are met. Assists digital teams with inquiries and provide troubleshooting support for trafficking issues related to creative and publisher implementation; escalates to third-party vendors when necessary.
- Owns daily reporting process for Chase IAS/CM360 comparison, including review and distribution to Media Team, to identify any potential IAS monitoring issues. Liaises with IAS, Media, and vendors to investigate solutions and make updates quickly. Informs Media Team of information for any new vendors to prevent post-launch tracking outages. Coordinates ongoing troubleshooting and training sessions with IAS.
- Collaborates with Media Team to ensure the extensive Chase QA Checklist information is checked, and any discrepancies are addressed, completed, and signed off on the AdOps portion.
Leadership/Management:
- Manages and mentors a team of ad operations specialists, providing training and professional development.
- Delegates responsibilities within the AdOps team regarding various tasks submitted to the team.
- Innovates new processes to find efficiencies within AdOps and cross department teams’ workflows.
- Creates platform POVs and regularly reviews industry trends and solutions.
- Liaises with internal and external teams through both day-to-day and more specialized projects.
Academic/Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
Required Skills/Experience:
- Superior communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with an ability to think creatively and present in a manner that inspires and excites
- Advanced understanding of ad-serving capabilities, rich media, VAST/V-PAID implementation, mobile implementation, creative process, dynamic ads, tasks involved in campaign implementation and execution, and digital media planning and buying process
- Power user in third-party ad servers and technology solutions: Google Campaign Manager, Innovid, Nielsen, ComScore, etc.
- A strong understanding of digital advertising, especially the role that AdOps plays and a critical point of view on the various organizational structures and working practices that can be employed to deliver success
- Proficient with 3P reporting verification and industry Ad Verification partners’ (IAS/DV/Moat) solutions
- A strong work ethic: able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and deliver results
- Strong organizational and project management skills, workload management and delegation
Highly Desired
- Experience with one or more ad servers, tag management systems or trading platforms: CM360, Innovid, The Trade Desk, Spectra, Display and Video 360, Tealium, Google Tag Manager, Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager
- Prior experience interacting directly with clients, agencies, or publishers
- 5 years working in the online advertising industry, with a focus on digital ad trafficking and operations
- Management and leadership experience with direct reports
- Experience with floodlight tagging/website pixel tagging
