Job Summary: The Blaster is responsible for preparing metal surfaces for fabrication and finishing by using abrasive blasting techniques. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces.
- Inspect surfaces to ensure proper preparation before and after blasting.
- Maintain and troubleshoot blasting equipment.
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Document work processes and report any issues to the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in sand blasting or metal fabrication preferred.
- Knowledge of blasting techniques and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work either 2nd or 3rd shift hours
- Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to work in the following conditions:
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, and abrasive materials.
- Standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, and safety goggles.
