The Industrial Engineering Intern is an innovative thinker and problem solver that leads in creating, developing, and deploying Visual Management Work Instructions to support safe and efficient assembly lines. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who leads with a mindset of kaizen (continuous improvement) and respect for people. The candidate will be responsible for driving positive change through the Quikserv Way and Quikserv Production System to establish and sustain a lean manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains visual management work instructions for assembly lines
• Conducts time studies to create assembly production standards and identify process improvements.
• Works with Industrial Engineering staff to develop assembly line balances
• Evaluates, recommends, and assists in implementing efficiency improvements in determining processes or equipment assigned with and without guidance
• Projects may include new and improved layout proposals to improve flow.
• Works safely utilizing PPE and following all safety procedures
• Assists in training of the necessary Lean transformation tools and techniques as required
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
  
  

Qualifications:

• Student in Industrial Engineering
• Lean basic knowledge required and “practical application” of Lean Tools
• Strong experience with MS Office, including Word and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
• Ability to communicate with co-workers and management in a productive manner
• “Proven” Ability to “Drive and Develop” Kaizen activity in a Manufacturing environment
• Ability to use hand tools as needed
• Self-motivated – “Driver” type personality and strives for Accuracy and Proficiency at assigned tasks
• Must support and display Quikserv Core Principles while leading by example in Safety & Quality
  
  

Physical Demands:

• Must support ability to lift 50 lbs
• Frequent standing, bending and walking
