The Industrial Engineering Intern is an innovative thinker and problem solver that leads in creating, developing, and deploying Visual Management Work Instructions to support safe and efficient assembly lines. - Develops and maintains visual management work instructions for assembly lines
- Conducts time studies to create assembly production standards and identify process improvements.
- Works with Industrial Engineering staff to develop assembly line balances
- Evaluates, recommends, and assists in implementing efficiency improvements in determining processes or equipment assigned with and without guidance
- Projects may include new and improved layout proposals to improve flow.
- Works safely utilizing PPE and following all safety procedures
- Assists in training of the necessary Lean transformation tools and techniques as required
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Student in Industrial Engineering
- Lean basic knowledge required and “practical application” of Lean Tools
- Strong experience with MS Office, including Word and Excel
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and management in a productive manner
- “Proven” Ability to “Drive and Develop” Kaizen activity in a Manufacturing environment
- Ability to use hand tools as needed
- Self-motivated – “Driver” type personality and strives for Accuracy and Proficiency at assigned tasks
- Must support and display Quikserv Core Principles while leading by example in Safety & Quality
- Must support ability to lift 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, bending and walking
