SUMMARY OF POSITION
As a member of the management team, the Controller is responsible for managing all financial administration and budgeting and is responsible for the integrity of the Company’s financial record-keeping. The Controller manages financial and accounting system controls and standards and ensures timely financial and statistical reports for management. Lead and customize existing practices and responsibilities, including the production of periodic financial reports, managing a strong system of accounting records, oversee a comprehensive set of controls and designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Achieving accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
- Preparing and completing action plans; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Confirming financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses and cash balances; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports.

- Working with other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
- Ensure deadlines are consistently met with daily, weekly and monthly accounting related tasks and requirements, including Month End Close and various monthly reports as required by the management.
- Ensure processing and accuracy of reports including, but not limited to, month-end closing, monthly forecast and variance, etc.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient in restaurant financial and accounting knowledge (P&L, budget, food, and labor costs)
- Strict confidentiality of company information
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills: verbal, writing, listening
- Excellent leadership and organizational management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, can-do attitude and professionalism in a high-paced environment
- Excellent culinary and facilities operations knowledge
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Intermediate to advanced excel proficiency
- Proficient with R365, ADP, Teamwork
- Exposure/familiarity with: Spot On, TripleSeat, Stripe, Seven rooms, CashPro
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- At least 4 or more years of progressive Hospitality Finance/Accounting experience.
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
