Position Summary:
The High School Dean Paraprofessional supports the daily operation of the office, providing assistance to students, teachers, and staff. This position requires familiarity with computers and online applications, strong multitasking skills, and a willingness to learn new tools and processes. The Dean Paraprofessional ensures a welcoming, organized, and efficient environment that supports the academic and personal growth of students throughout the school day.
Qualifications:
•High School diploma is required and an Associate’s Degree is preferred
•Excellent computer abilities with Google Applications and other business-related software products
•Experience with Excel and working in student databases (e.g., Aspen/SIS, etc.) is preferred
•Good communication skills with a friendly and helpful attitude.
•Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Duties:
•Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student and staff information for the purpose of ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
•Communicates with students, teachers, parents, district employees, etc. (e.g., courtesy calls to parents, discipline history, parent letters, passes to students, etc.) for the purpose of resolving problems and coordinating activities and processes.
•Supports all department staff members for the purpose of providing assistance with their functions and responsibilities.
•Responds to questions from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g., staff, other educational institutions, the public, parents, and/or students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or directions.
•Responsible for maintaining confidential student discipline files (e.g., inputting records, referral notices, suspensions, etc.) within the master database. Notify necessary administration as well as parent/guardians regarding administrative action of the referral (e.g., suspension letters, detention notification, etc.).
•Coordinates, processes, and updates documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
•Responsible for assisting in ensuring accurate and timely completion of regulatory requirements as needed.
•Compiles a variety of ad hoc reports and data collection (e.g., year-end reports, progress reports, etc.) for the purpose of providing accurate information.
•Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school district.
•Supports and serves as backup to other support personnel to provide assistance and coverage with their functions and responsibilities as needed.
Compensation:
This position is for 180 days per year. Salary will be in accordance with the current contract.
