School Bus Drivers – Full and Part-Time
PAY: Ranges from $29 to $34.66 per hour; $51.99 per hour overtime rate (Pay rates effective upon implementation of 35 hour/week schedule).
Summary Job Description: Responsible for safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route. Operate a school bus, minibus /van that transport students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or designated locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Valid Massachusetts Class B driver’s license with S and P endorsements (or willing to obtain)
•Must be appropriately licensed by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV)
•Valid DOT School Bus Certificate (or willing to obtain)
•First Aid CPR Certified
•Ability to pass random alcohol and drug test
•Ability to completed required Bus / Van drivers safety training
•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
•Ability to communicate effectively
•Knowledge of student discipline procedures
•Ability to manage student behavior
•Ability to operate a Bus / Minibus / Van

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred prior to training for bus driver certificate.
Quincy Public Schools is currently offering $1,000 Sign-On Bonus* (Full-Time drivers only) and $500 Referral Bonus*
*$1,000 sign-on bonus is non precedent setting and is payable to a newly hired employee under the following conditions: Full bonus is contingent on Employee being hired and successfully performing the duties of a full-time regular route school bus driver for a minimum of 6 months of continuous service, exclusive of training period, if any, and paid as follows; payment of $500 will be made after two (2) weeks; payment of remaining $500 will be made after 6 months, for a total of $1,000. Current or former QPS employees are not eligible. Please note: Sign-on bonus is considered supplemental income and is subject to withholding.
*$500 referral bonus is non precedent setting and is payable to any current QPS employee under the following conditions: Referred applicant must identify a current QPS employee(s) who referred applicant to QPS; referred applicant must be hired and successfully perform the duties of a full-time regular route school bus driver for a minimum of 6 months of continuous service, exclusive of training period, if any; if two or more employees are identified as providing referral, then the $500 bonus will be split accordingly. Please note: Referral bonus is considered supplemental income and is subject to withholding.
