Speech-Language Pathologist Middle & High School

Quincy Public Schools is seeking a licensed speech language pathologist to conduct evaluations, develop IEPs, and provide direct services to students with communication needs in a public-school setting.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducts thorough assessments of speech and language skills utilizing standardized evaluations and informal assessments to establish eligibility for services and inform goals and service delivery
  • Utilizes data to develop attainable, strengths-based SMART goals for improving functional communication skills and accessing the general education curriculum
  • Provides direct services utilizing research-based treatment methods to improve students’ functional communication skills and support access to the general education curriculum as outlined in the students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP)
  • Records data and reports progress at least as often as report cards are provided
  • Attends and participates in IEP meetings
  • Collaborates with other related service providers to conduct co-treatment sessions when deemed appropriate
  • Consults with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to implement communication strategies throughout the school day
  • Develops augmentative/alternative communication strategies as necessary
  • Trains classroom staff and families on augmentative/alternative communication strategies
  • Participates in professional development that is specific to the field and meets requirements to maintain licensure
  • Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program
  • Valid Speech Language Pathology License through the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Division of Professional Licensure, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Valid Speech and Hearing Disabilities (All Levels) License through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
  • Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred
  • Strong Clinical Fellow (CF) candidates considered
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with low-, mid-, and high-tech augmentative/alternative communication strategies
  • Experience with behavior management/de-escalation strategies
  • Reports To:
