What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Development Engineer, Algorithms position at Quindar?
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be responsible for developing ground satellite operations software using Python and AWS services. Don't worry, you do not need to be an expert in all things “satellites” - satellites are just flying servers you can connect to every 90 minutes but we connect to hundreds of them. However, you will through this role learn to understand fundamentals of satellite mission planning and flight dynamics so bringing a strong comfort level with solving physics-based problems in software will be useful!
You will develop APIs, integrate with various AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Fargate, and EKS along with focusing on scalability, security, cost, and performance of the software. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including satellite operators and other software engineers, to understand requirements, implement new features, and troubleshoot issues. Your strong knowledge of AWS services and best practices will enable you to optimize resource utilization and automate processes, ultimately contributing to the efficient and reliable operations of thousands of satellites.
You will primarily be responsible for developing backend software capabilities, but will work closely with frontend developers and aerospace engineers to understand the problems being solved and how our customers will interact with the solutions you are building.
You will be a part of the engineering team working in a highly iterative agile product development environment.
