Your Role: Legal Assistant – Construction Litigation
Responsibilities
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys by managing case files, assisting with litigation procedures, and maintaining attorney schedules. Your responsibilities include:
🔹 Legal Document Preparation & Review: Assisting with drafting, proofreading, and formatting legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials.
🔹 E-Filing & Court Procedures: Handling state e-filing processes and ensuring all case documents are properly submitted and recorded.
🔹 Subpoena & Case File Management: Tracking and organizing subpoenas, discovery requests, and case-related documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping.
🔹 Attorney Scheduling & Calendar Management: Managing court deadlines, hearings, and depositions while ensuring schedules remain up to date.
🔹 Exhibit & Evidence Collection: Assisting in the gathering and organization of exhibits to accompany discovery responses.
🔹 Time Entry & Administrative Support: Managing attorney time entries and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the efficiency of the litigation team.

- 4 years of experience as a Legal Assistant supporting civil defense litigation attorneys.
- Prior experience in construction law or construction defect litigation is preferred. ✔️ Legal Knowledge & Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Florida State e-filing systems (mandatory).
- Strong familiarity with legal document formatting, subpoena processes, and litigation workflows. ✔️ Technology & Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). ✔️ Organizational & Analytical Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize deadlines, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume legal setting.
