Your Role: General Liability Defense Attorney
As an Attorney in our General Liability Defense practice, you will play a key role in handling complex litigation matters. Your responsibilities include:
🔹 Case Strategy & Litigation Management: Evaluating case findings and developing strategic defense arguments for trial.
🔹 Client Counseling & Risk Assessment: Advising clients on litigation risks, case strategy, legal rights, and obligations.
🔹 Courtroom & Mediation Advocacy: Preparing for and attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as required.
🔹 Discovery & Legal Research: Drafting legal documents, analyzing case law, responding to discovery requests, and preparing legal memoranda.
🔹 Client & Business Development: Maintaining relationships with existing clients while developing new client opportunities.
🔹 Billable Hour & Case Productivity: Meeting designated billable time requirements while effectively managing case deadlines.
What You Bring
To excel in this role, you should have:
✔️ Experience:
- 7-12 years of experience handling General Liability defense litigation.
- Experience in Auto, Construction Defect, Workers' Compensation, Med Mal/Nursing Home, Professional Lines, Premises Liability, and/or Products Liability preferred.
✔️ Legal Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong analytical and research abilities to develop effective case strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to effectively advocate for clients.
✔️ Education & Licensure:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing.
- Admission to all Federal District Courts in Florida (or ability to obtain admission).
✔️ Technology & Software Proficiency:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), Westlaw, and time-billing software.
