Spend the summer lakeside in the White Mountains at Quisisana Resort enjoying all the wonderful outdoor activities Maine has to offer. Staff are provided with a unique opportunity to spend a summer living, working and playing in an inclusive and creative environment. Quisisana is looking for a calm, proactive, forward thinking and dedicated Kitchen Steward to join our team this upcoming season! The ideal candidate will have experience in food service or related receiving positions.
The Steward will primarily be responsible for the receiving of all deliveries to the resort including checking them in and putting them away. This position will also be in charge or product rotation and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all food storage areas and coolers in the kitchen.
Quoted pay dependent on experience.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- -Responsible for receiving all orders, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the deliver
- -Responsible for putting away deliveries including in dry storage, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, chemical storage and other locations as needed
- -Maintain storage areas ensuring organization and cleanliness
- -Assist the kitchen staff in deep cleaning of the kitchen as directed by the Executive Chef
- -Assist the dishwasher and maintenance staff in scheduled cleaning and maintenance tasks as directed by the Executive Chef and/or Kitchen Manager
- -Willingness to jump in when needed to help the kitchen function as efficiently as possible
Qualifications
- -Minimum 1 year working in the food service industry or similar receiving position with basic cleanliness, sanitation and safety knowledge
- -Detail oriented
- -Ability to work independently following outlined job responsibilities and expectations
- -Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
- -Capable of standing for a10 hour shift
- -Protect guests and staff by adhering to sanitation and safety control policies outlined by Quisisana and the Maine Department of Health
