Part Time Banquet Attendant
Summary:
This position plays a major role in a member's dinner and/or bar experience. Consistency is a key element in a positive experience, which is achieved by always following recipes. A server must be friendly, outgoing and possess good communication skills. A server should be organized and able to think and act quickly and effectively while retaining self-composure.
Job Description
• Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times. Make members feel appreciated through server’s actions.
• Work as a team with all Quivira Inc's personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
• Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to Quivira Inc's standards at all times.
• Be attentive! Offer assistance before the guest has to ask for it.
• Anticipate your guest's needs. Follow the half-full rule when offering another drink. Be alert of guest signals (raising a hand, making eye contact, etc.), and acknowledge the guest to let them know the server will be right with them.
• Learn guests' names, occupations and favorite drinks. This will make Lake Quivira a special place for them.
• Know how to read and interpret the Banquet Event Order regarding room set up for each event.
• Sets up all banquet function table linens, china, silverware, glassware, and centerpieces.
• Sets up wait/beverage stations.
• Sets up all perishable items for banquet service such as bread, butter, and cream.
• Serves all food and beverages to banquet guests.
• Clears away all dishes and items used in the service of a banquet, including the linens.
• Ensures the proper storage of all items from equipment to perishable foods.
• Prepares for future banquets by folding napkins, filling condiments, and performing other duties as required.
• Communicates with Banquet Manager regarding banquet equipment repair or safety issues.
• Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Education, and Preferred Skills
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of food and beverage set-up arrangements, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Prior experience as a server.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Physical Demands and Environment
• Walk and stand during entire shift.
• Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe.
• Remain stationary for long periods of time.
• Frequently wash hands.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to hear and talk.
• Good close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus between the two.
• This position operates in a club setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
Hours and Attendance
• Varied and flexible shifts/days, likely to include nights, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime.
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Team members with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Salary : $13 - $16
