The Grounds Person maintains exterior landscaping in neat, manicured condition at all times. Plant bushes, shrubs, bedding plants each season. Upkeep and maintain appearance of all exterior landscaping utilizing provided equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment that is used. Troubleshoot and repair sprinkler systems as needed. This position works outside over 15 acres in all seasons with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, and loud noises.

The Grounds Person maintains exterior landscaping in neat, manicured condition at all times. Plant bushes, shrubs, bedding plants each season. Upkeep and maintain appearance of all exterior landscaping utilizing provided equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment that is used. Essential Requirements
- Operate and perform preventative maintenance on assorted tools and riding mowing equipment.
- Maintain appearance of grounds by planting, trimming, mowing, trimming, weed eating, removing trash and leaves daily from sidewalks, grounds, landscaping and parking lots.
- Keep grounds shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition.
- Operate power equipment including riding mower, hand tools, blowers, weed eaters and utility vehicles required for ground maintenance and landscaping
- Work on sprinkler systems as needed
- Ability to operate the following equipment: Tractor and mower, riding and power mower, gas-powered weed trimmer, blower, edger, sprayer, garden and hand tools, and aerator.
- Remove dead foliage and tree branches
- Monitor and perform all p.m. systems (irrigation, control clocks, parking lot, vegetation, etc.) on an ongoing basis.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of landscaping and maintenance care.
- Maintain grounds equipment and tools in proper working order. Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required
- Maintain a working inventory of all parts needed for the department. Maintain and control tool inventory to include proper storage and training in their use.
- Safely use different types of power equipment and hand tools as required to maintain appearance of grounds.
- Knowledgeable of all major and emergency equipment locations and their functions including, but not limited to, valves electrical equipment, etc.
- Perform job functions with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Work well under pressure of time schedules and priority projects.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Perform any other duties as required.

- Prior landscaping experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
- Knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment, with the ability to perform minor maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions.
