About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious team member to join our Human Resources department. As an HR & Safety Manager, you will have numerous opportunities to utilize your innovative problem-solving skills to drive the department forward. This role requires high personal integrity when dealing with customers, superiors, subordinates, and co-workers, representing Quovis Inc professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- HR Department Management: Establish and manage the HR department, providing leadership and oversight while ensuring HR policies align with corporate goals and the mill's specific needs.
- Manpower Planning and Recruitment: Develop manpower plans, support workforce development, and lead recruitment processes for plant-level positions, utilizing traditional and creative sourcing methods to attract top talent.
- Employee Relations and Training: Act as an impartial mediator in disciplinary procedures and employee relations issues, providing guidance to managers and staff on fair and legal handling of employee matters. Oversee training programs, including safety, regulatory, and HR-related initiatives, ensuring employees are trained according to organizational and legal standards.
- Performance Management: Lead the performance management process, supporting supervisors in employee development and conducting performance reviews. Create performance plans for individual and departmental improvement.
- EHS Compliance and Improvement: Foster a safety-first culture by leading safety initiatives, promoting continuous improvement, and monitoring the effectiveness of safety programs. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, conduct regular safety audits and investigations, and maintain records for regulatory reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- At least 5 years of experience in human resources management, including a minimum of three years in conflict/emergency locations
- At least 5 years of experience supporting Mill/Plant wide EHS initiatives
- Hazmat operator's certification 40 hours and First Aid are a plus
- MS Office Suite Experience; HRIS system experience
