Our Senior Data Analyst plays a vital role within our organization. This role will be responsible for accessing and building datasets, designing and conducting complex analysis, supporting customer data requests and questions, and creating and delivering data assets to the LogicStream team and our customers. This is a hybrid position located in the Minneapolis / Twin Cities office.
What the Senior Data Analyst Does Each Day:
- Understands the use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) for patient care, clinical quality management, and process improvement in a health system setting
- Writes complex SQL queries to extract data from an EHR database and integrate with LogicStream data model to support and expand the needs of our clinical software product
- Working knowledge of the clinical context of how the data is represented in the front-end user workflow of the EHR. Ability to bridge gap between technical specifications and clinical concepts
- Troubleshoots and performs data audits to ensure and improve data integrity; investigate and resolve data discrepancies
- Participates in the development and execution of the technology platform including conducting research, performing product design, creating specification documents, and assisting with customer implementation
- Supports and resolves customer questions and requests
- Builds professional skills by maintaining an awareness of industry trends and standards in health care delivery, clinical informatics, and analytics
- Conducts data analysis as required and appropriate
- Participates regularly in team meetings and provide status updates as applicable
- Identifies opportunities to improve and innovate within our core product and the overall company
- Supports sales, marketing and business development teams with clinical and workflow background and knowledge
- Contributes to the development of end-to-end data driven solutions

Minimum Requirements for this Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or computer science
- 5 years’ experience in a healthcare environment with a working knowledge of EHR technologies, database structures, informatics and clinical analytics
- Working knowledge of one or more Electronic Health Record Platforms (Cerner or EPIC preferred)
- Strong SQL query writing skills in a Microsoft environment
- Experience writing reports focused on concepts such as clinician notes and documentation, medications, laboratory and pathology results, and operative reports, etc.
- Experience testing and evaluating the quality of data sets, algorithms and visualizations
- Ability to interact with customers and promote adaptive and effective use of clinical information systems
- Able to successfully complete a drug and background check
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; QuVa is not able to sponsor applicants for work visas
Any of the Following Will Give You an Edge:
- Experience and Certification in clinical data models such as:
- Epic Clarity Inpatient, OpTime, Willow, Beaker and/or OpTime applications
- Cerner’s PathNet, SurgiNet, PharmNet, RadNet, Millennium, and CommunityWorks
- Clinical care experience and/or licensure
- Proficiency with one or more data mining/predictive modeling tools: Python, R, Snowflake
- Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI and Quality and Safety Regulations
