What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Coordinator (Product Central) position at QVC?
The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Area Manager, you will research, pick, locate and prepare products for Commerce platforms. Product presentation skills are necessary as this position is important to the selling strategy/presentation of our products. You will often be one of the last people to have hands and eyes on products before they are live on TV! You will work onsite in our Studio Park location in West Chester, PA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret Show Programming Schedule and Broadcast PALs/Flow Sheets and other demand sources to determine product needed for Commerce teams. Need to read all buyer notes and show notes and adjust sample mix. Use company appropriate system to identify locations for items needed according to Product request stream. Understand complex and varying show matrix charts by commodity. A working knowledge of the numerous show matrix needs and an understanding of product needs for sets/props and other vendor needs.
- Research color and size availability, through company appropriate system, before pulling product. Physically obtain product totes, boxes or bags from location (includes oversized warehouse and jewelry), removes product from the tote or hanger and places on appropriate cart or rack.
- Examine products to ensure they are in optimum condition and working order. Ensure colors are exact match and call out any packaging/model changes to QA. An understanding of time sensitive display products that need longer prep times. The ability to compare the Long Description of the product to the actual product to maintain the quality standards set forth by QVC. This includes checking the basic functions of the product, the included accessories, and any other descriptions sited in the LD. This includes starting up electronics and testing functionality.
- Places orders for new samples from the appropriate distribution site when products are incomplete, quantity necessary for the show is not in location and product is damaged or in poor condition. Decide on best shipping method to meet show deadline and reduce courier expenses.
- Contacts buyers/vendors by email when products are not available in the distribution sites or they are last minute additions to the show. Coordinate delivery of exception buyer samples.
- Identify show items in New Receipts and coordinate efforts to receive and prep product with new receipts processor or receive and prep product when no assistance is available. Knowledge of the product locator system for proper location assignment.
- Research by company appropriate system when products are missing from location. Contact stylists, buyers, QA, etc. to retrieve product for the show. Requires a working knowledge of backstage and studio functions.
- Notifies team lead of all product issues.
- Assemble items and ensure they are in proper working order (i.e. fitness equipment, cookware, grills). Prepare product to be presented on the live show – clean, polish, steam, assemble, charge and prep product. HD environment requires detailed understanding of prep. Transports product and pick information to product prep room.
After show, counts and inspects items returned from the set for damages or completeness before put away. Investigate/researches misplaced units, relabels and returns to inventory. Box all items for storage and safe retrieval. Research items not returned from commerce teams by tracking, recording and documenting back to commerce teams missing units while also notifying Inventory Control. Keys returned items from Shows and SRTs.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE

2. – Product Central's primary operating systems (PCMS, RETEK, MOVE, IBM, Pick Ticket, LRS) , Outlook, SharePoint, Lotus Notes, Excel, .Com and research of product on web sites.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience: 3 years related warehouse or retail experience operating power equipment and using computerized Inventory Management systems.
Previous experience and certification using warehouse equipment such as Work Savers, Reach Trucks and Order Pickers is helpful!
JOB REQUIREMENTS (As needed by the ADA)
1. Ability to lift cartons/totes/product weighing up to 50 lbs or with assistance for over 50 lbs.
2. Operate warehouse equipment such as stock pickers, Work Savers and pallet jacks.
3. Operate elevated machinery
4. Operate standard office equipment such as computers, fax machines, photocopiers, etc.
5. Access and enter information using an automated system.
6. Maintain attendance as defined by company policy.
