Job Summary
The Quality Control Lab Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet the established quality standards and specifications. This position involves conducting various tests and inspections, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with other departments to uphold quality management practices. The technician will be responsible for implementing quality control measures in compliance with industry standards such as ANSI and Z87 Safety Standards.
Duties
- Perform quality inspections on finished eyewear and uncut lenses, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications as ordered by our customers.
- Utilize lensometer and auto-lensometers for precise measurements and data collection.
- Conduct quality audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to ANSI Standards.
- Analyze research data collected during inspection processes to identify trends and issues.
- Fabricate test samples as needed for various quality assessments.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality-related concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation related to quality control processes, including test results and audit findings.
- Assist in the development and refinement of quality management systems.
- Ensure that all finished products are accurate per customers specifications including material, Rx, and any additional add-ons such as Transitions, Non-glare, tints, and any other specifics as ordered.
Skills
- Proficiency in using lensometer usage for accurate measurements.
- Knowledge of ANSI standards and their application in an optical laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with optical principles and practices related to eyewear and lens specifications.
- Strong understanding of quality management concepts and methodologies.
- Experience in research data collection and analysis techniques.
- Ability to perform thorough quality inspections with attention to detail.
- Understanding of ANSI regulations as they pertain to optical laboratory operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.90 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
