Position Overview :
The ideal Account Executive candidate will be a go-getter, a wearer of many hats, and someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work. As an integral player at the agency, the Account Executive will collaborate closely with team members to help meet client goals by building impactful media relationships, crafting strong pitches, and consistently offering creative and on-point deliverables. This person will be proactive and eager, meet or beat deadlines, stay ahead of trends, and always look for new ways to solve problems. We are looking for someone with a minimum of two years of PR agency experience and must demonstrate thoughtfulness, creativity, a positive attitude, excellent communication and writing skills, an obsessive attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Establishes effective relationships with key media contacts across national, regional, local and industry-specific outlets
- Interfaces and develops a rapport with clients, internal team members and vendors
- Develops an understanding of the clients' business and target audience
- Help support the primary day-to-day contact in the management of account responsibilities
- Create and implement media strategies that generate coverage across different outlets
- Build and cultivate positive relationships with media contacts
- Create and implement speaking and award opportunities for clients
- Develop a full range of written materials including press releases, bylined articles, client correspondence, and reports
- Pursue timely press opportunities and proactive outreach
- Prep and cover interview opportunities (briefing documents, scheduling, etc)
- Work cohesively as part of project teams; as well as being proactive to the various tasks assigned
- Write well-structured, persuasive content (pitches, press releases, alerts, etc.)
- Contribute innovative ideas for clients and new business work; generate creative ideas and solutions to everyday problems and challenges
- Conduct editorial outreach to connect clients with key editors and media outlets for press coverage
- Exhibit strong writing, communication, and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to the media, clients, and CEO
- Oversee media monitoring for all clients
- Build and update media lists and databases
- Assist in administrative duties
- Actively participates in team and client meetings in addition to available training programs
- Works with director supervisor to set goals and build skills
- Completes work product, timesheets and reports accurately
- Contributes and support to 7-9 accounts (on average)
